Process Safety Management

The Process Safety Management System is an analytical tool that focuses on preventing the release of any substance identified as a "high risk chemical" by the Environmental Protection Agency or Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The Process Safety Department is concerned with preventing and controlling incidents in which the leakage of hazardous materials may occur. It aims to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents resulting from releases of chemicals and other energy sources. These standards consist of regulatory and operational procedures, design guidelines, audit programs, and a host of other methods.
